After getting engaged, we knew that the plan of going to Korea in August would require a fairly quick wedding. Because we made the decision to get married in Arizona, with only immediate family present, we wanted a way to include the rest of our friends and family.
Fortunately, we were blessed with time off during the month of July. This made it possible for us to have receptions. The first reception took place in Georgia on July 5, 2014. My parents graciously hosted a wonderful evening of American themed festivities and BBQ.
So far in Mike’s career as a pilot, he has been privileged to fly two fighter jets. For the reception we painted these cornhole boards matching the design of the patch of each jet. We are very happy with how they turned out and proud of our painting skills (the process became a growth and learning process for our marriage).
This was a special event, particularly to have all of our family together.
The next reception was held at Bella Terre in Omaha, NE, on July 25, 2014. Mike’s parents, Pat and Cyndee McVay generously provided a wonderful night of celebration with friends and family.
There was dancing and hula for all!
We cut another ‘Merican cake!
You know we would find time to goof off.
And of course we are living happily ever after…
They were a great opportunity to be able to spend time with some very important people before our big move.
We would like to thank all of our friends and family who were able to make it out providing their love and support in the celebration of our union!
