McVays in the USA

After eighteen months of being away, Mike and I were grateful for the opportunity to visit his friends and family again on their territory. One looooong day of travel and there we were!

With our bodies so confused on the time, we were on some wacky sleeping schedules from day one. So when we woke up at noon on Wednesday, the house was full of children’s feet and giggles as Daniel and his family were there to see us!

We were off to quality family time before we knew it!

With it being so close to Christmas, Cyndee had us wait to celebrate until we arrived.

Tyler crocheted the cutest and tiniest stocking for Avera.

This stack was for Avera… yes, you read that right… our unborn child! (We’re in trouble already!!)

One of the gifts we each received was a deck of cards chosen especially for us so we could play Nertz. The games began immediately and the kids didn’t hesitate to jump in on the fun!

Of course, Chick-fil-A and pedicures were one of the first things my mother-in-law took me to do!

For New Years Eve, we went downtown for a nice dinner and fireworks.

Uncle Mike and Lena having fun on the slides downtown.

Timing worked out where some dear friends of ours were also in town and we were able to meet up.

We couldn’t leave town without seeing the Gross gang and eating La Mesa.

And got to meet this little guy for the first time.

Before heading out, we had to get family pictures since it’s so rare we are all together like this.

I’m so glad we did!!

One last picture as we say “see ya later”.
