Love in My Tummy

Being healthy is a way to not only look better but to feel better as well. It is just as important to feel the part as it is to look the part. Be confident. I am challenging myself to a healthy lifestyle of overall fitness.

I believe I can eat all the yummies and still be healthy. In order to do this I am incorporating healthy smoothies full of fruits and veggies, healthy snacks, a pre-meal drink, and working out.

Smoothies of the week: Green with Envy & Very BerryImageGreen with Envy Ingredients:

  • Bananas
  • Chopped Pineapple
  • Spinach
  • Non-fat Yogurt

** I use eye to determine just how much to include, but typically I use 2 bananas, 1 can chopped pineapple (drain most of the juice), a handful of spinach, and about 1.5 cups of yogurt — this is enough for 3 servings

ImageVery Berry Ingredients:

  • Blueberries
  • Bananas
  • Non-fat yogurt
  • Natural Agave (for extra sweetness)

**Again I use my own judgment on exactly how much of each but typically 2 cups blueberries (frozen), 2 bananas, 1.5 cup yogurt, 1 TBS agaveImagePre-Meal Drink Ingredients:

  • Grapefruit Juice
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Honey

** I found this recipe on Pinterest and this week will be my first time trying it. I mixed about 1/2 of a pitcher of 5 cups grapefruit juice, 10 tsp of apple cider vinegar, and 5 tsp of honey. It made about 7 servings

When to Drink:

  • The smoothies I use as snacks/in between meals to suppress appetite while received adequate vitamins. I drink at least one per day, two at most having one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • The pre-meal drink is designed to drink prior to a meal — about 8 oz is the appropriate serving — it is supposed to help burn and break down fats.
