Getting There

We have been blessed with some time to spend with family before the adventures take off in Korea. So the journey officially began on June 22 when I began the drive from AZ back to my hometown in South GA. We packed a U-HAUL, mapped the route, and hit the road. Unfortunately it was just the Pip and I as Mike was off for another training.

Pippa began the trip with very curious eyes checking out all the scenery.

It was good to absorb some of the beauty of the Arizona mountains and desert one last time on the way out.

Finally some greenery as we touched Oklahoma and crossed Arkansas!

And the sites began to look a little more like home as we entered Tennessee.

Then I pulled over to take the most important FaceTime call of my life as I met my new niece, Joy Belle Heape {isn’t she a beauty!}

At some point we crossed the Mississippi River…

But we were too tired to really remember.

Alabama was a breeze (& nothing much to photograph); then we were FINALLY rolling into the Baggett driveway!

I took about 10 minutes to stretch and shower, but I hurried off because Joy Belle couldn’t wait to meet her aunt.

And thankfully, only one short day later Uncle Mike made it!

Although there were many bumps and lessons along the way, the end result was more than worth it. We were able to make some memories, spend much needed time with family, and of course celebrate the 4th of July!

More to come…
